In the spring of 2005, Dr. Revana began a search for both the ideal region and an experienced winemaker with the goal of producing Pinot Noirs that could rival those from Burgundy. His search ended in Oregon\u2019s Willamette Valley, where he met Lynn Penner-Ash. Alexana is named after Dr. Revana\u2019s daughter, Alexandra.<\/p><h3>\u00a0<\/h3><h3>Belle Pente Vineyard &amp; Winery<\/h3><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Belle Pente (bell-pont\u2019) means \u201cbeautiful slope\u201d \u2013 a perfect description for our hillside vineyard site in the Yamhill-Carlton District of Oregon\u2019s Willamette Valley. Our inspiration comes from the exquisite wines of Burgundy and Alsace, and follows the guiding principle that great wine is made in the vineyard and merely nurtured in the winery. Our standard practices include organic &amp; biodynamic viticulture, carefully managing vineyard quality and yields, and meticulously hand sorting the grapes that arrive at the winery to remove all underripe or damaged fruit.
